CERAMIC SLIP CAST

This gallery shows 1 of each type of Ceramic Slip Casts that I have done.

Slip Casting is the process of pouring Ceramic Slip into a Cast Mold. The finished Piece that comes out is what is shown. Each Piece is going to be a little different. Ceramics made through this method can contain some imperfections which add to their character and make them not exactly like any other piece that comes out of same mold. Due to this, dimensions can vary and weight can vary. The mold Seams are smoothed down. After this process is complete the Pieces are Artisan Hand Painted with under glaze After This Process the pieces go through Bisque Fire. Bisque Fire does make them a little lighter and a little smaller. Once Pieces have been through Bisque Fire, They are then Clear Glazed with either a matte Glaze or Gloss Glaze that is clear. Once Dry they Go Through Glaze Fire.

Below is how long a standard Piece takes. Due to not having my personal Kiln, it normally takes a couple hours to make the initial piece, a couple days to dry, anywhere from 1-4 hours to hand paint depending on the piece. The Bigger Pieces can take up to 4-5 hours. Then about a week waiting on Bisque Fire, a few minutes to clear glaze and up to a week or 2 for clear glaze.

The Link to where they can be bought are on the photos.
